A checklist to help you prepare your home to sell:
* Everything from floors to windows must be spotless.
* Remember to clean the inside of the oven & other major appliances.
* Make those bathrooms shine!
* Kill the offensive odors. This is the first thing buyers notice,
and often a permanent turnoff
.
* Eliminate Clutter. You want people to envision their possessions
in your home and make your home look spacious
* Put away small kitchen appliances and other items that are sitting
on kithcen and bathroom countertop.
* Remove photographs from table-top.
* Organize and declutter the closet.
* If there is not a reason to leave something sitting around--remove it!
* Clean the air conditioner filters
Outside Tasks:
* Buyers nearly always comment if gutters are full of leaves and
it makes them question other maintenance issues.
* Power wash the outside of your home it really puts a 'fresh face'
on it!
* Stand in front of your home does it look hidden by shubbery,
plants, etc. in front of the home? If so, you want to clean these
items up. You want nice landscaping without hidding your home.....
* Do you have lawnmowers or other outside items in your yard that
make it appear messy? If so, store those items away from view!
* Make your front entry inviting. Decorate it, paint the door
or buy a new door. It's the first look..
